My thoughts on his work.. People appreciated him for his scenery i am really inspired by his work because i personally like taking photos of scenery it gives me a calm feeling. this photographers work is different because he uses black and white for most of his photos and he mostly takes photos of just scenery.
Ansel Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist. He took most of his photos at Yosemite National Park. Yosemite is what inspired him to start shooting. Most of his work was done in a nature scenery. Ansel Adams was born February 20, 1902 and died April 22, 1984. He was born in the western addition of San Francisco . He was an only child named after his uncle. Ansel Adams was frequently sick and was a hypochondriac. he had few friends at the age of 12 his father decided to pull him out of school and be educated by private tutors. The first time that Ansel Adams went to Yosemite National Park he wrote about it he said "the splendor of Yosemite burst upon us and it was glorious... One wonder after another descended upon us... There was light everywhere... A new era began for me." his first camera was a Kodak Brownie Box Camera. In 1928, Ansel Adams married Virginia Best in Best's Studio in Yosemite Valley. In 1927 Ansel Adams produced his first portfolio " Pamelien Prints Of The High Sierras". In the course of his 60-year career, the 1930s were a particularly productive and experimental time. In 1940, Ansel put together A Pageant of Photography, the most important and largest photography show in the West to date, attended by millions of visitors. In September 1941, Adams contracted with the Department Of The Interior to make photographs of National Parks, Indian reservations, and other locations for use as mural-sized prints for decoration of the Department's new building.In 1952 Adams was one of the founders of the magazine Aperture , which was intended as a serious journal of photography showcasing its best practitioners and newest innovations. In the 1960s, a few mainstream art galleries (without a photographic emphasis) which originally would have considered photos unworthy of exhibit alongside fine paintings decided to show Adams's images, particularly the former Kenmore Gallery in Philadelphia.In 1974, Adams was guest of honor at the Recontreas d'Arles festival (France). In 1974, Adams had a major retrospective exhibition at the MetropolitanMuseum Of Art. Ansel Adams did not only work with black and white he also sometimes experienced with color. Ansel Adams likes portraying photos of nature such as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, etc. In September 1983, Adams was confined to his bed for four weeks after leg surgery to remove a tumor. Adams died on April 22, 1984, in the ICU at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey, California at the age of 82 from cardiovascular disease. Adams received a number of awards during his lifetime and posthumously, and there have been a few awards named for him.
